Kat Cloutier grew up on an island surrounded by a turquoise blue ocean and fiery sunsets.
By night, the island sky was shrouded by a sea of stars that blanketed the island in an ethereal light. She loved to sketch and showed artistic promise from as early as five.
She dreamed of seeing more of the world and meeting new people.
Little did she know that her wish would come true, albeit in a rather unfortunate turn of events.
Early one Saturday morning an electrical fire broke out in her family’s home. The fire spread quickly, and while the family made it out safely, the home could not be saved.
At age eleven, Kat and her family made their way to the U.S.
Her teachers in school quickly recognized her talent and, unbeknownst to Kat, entered her art into regional art competitions where she often took first prize. One of her drawings was selected to be featured on a billboard by the D.A.R.E. organization.
Destined for art, she became a graduate of the Milan Art Institute, where she explored mixed media and found her authentic artist voice through her coaches and mentors.
Her artist story is one of overcoming and hints of the magical world of her island often make their way into her art.
Her art sings an expressive song of transformational empowerment, reminding its observer that nothing is impossible if you persevere. It communicates passion, owning your greatness, and allowing your life to rise like the phoenix from the flames that shape our destiny.
She combines smooth lines and brush strokes with unique stylistic mark-making and occasional collages made from items that she buys second hand, which emphasizes that it is never too late to become a masterpiece.
Today, her art communicates fortuitous transformation. She is quickly becoming a world-renowned artist, and her paintings have been sought out and purchased internationally. She has a bright future as she uses her brush, canvas, and paint to encourage and remind us to embrace beauty, love, passion, and each moment we have to create our own unique stories.
You can often find Kat in her second-floor art studio, where she feels most inspired. Her art studio is home to a timeless red chaise sofa, a wall of vinyl records from soulful artists, and an easel that spans an entire wall.
Each painting comes to life with a playlist of songs from various genres and decades that propel the artistic creation into existence.
Her goal is to have her artwork featured in fine art galleries worldwide.
